The Cubs started sorting out the outfield logjam; as soon as Dexter Fowler signed Theo shipped Chris Coghlan to the Oakland A"s for pitcher Aaron Brooks. Coghlan, 30, no longer fit as the left handed swing man.

Dexter Fowler, who was all but signed by the Baltimore Orioles on a 3 year deal pending physical instead signed a one year pact for $8 million with a club option for 2017.
